Sagacamp runs the campsite in Hvolsvöllur and a handful of glamping tents on it. Family-run for over a decade. The Lava Centre is a five-minute walk; Seljalandsfoss is twenty minutes down Route 1.
Each tent is set up for sleeping well after a long day on the south coast: a proper bed with linen, light and air in the morning, and the whole campsite outside the flap. Kitchen corner in selected tents.
A real double bed with bedding and towels included. No sleeping bags, no air mattress.
Wi-Fi in the tent for the next day's plans. Phone signal across the campsite.
Space around each tent, a view toward the Eyjafjallajökull ridge, and the town a short walk away.
Hvolsvöllur sits on Route 1 between the waterfalls and the capital. Most of the south coast's famous stops are a day trip with the tent to come back to. Times are by car unless noted.
